We are a group of individuals, devoted to bridging cancer care disparities in the United States of America and Africa. We are made up of Advance Practice Nurses, Cancer Survivors, Community workers, Educators, Nurses, Pharmacists, Physicians, Physician Assistants, Radiographers, Researchers, Reverends, Social Workers, and other concerned citizens of the world.
I am the President and Founder of Africa Cancer Care Inc and Africa Cancer Prevention Group. I am a Physician Assistant by Profession. I trained at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, obtained my Masters in Oncology with the University of Nebraska and my Doctorate in Health Science from Nova Southeastern University, Florida. I have been working with MD Anderson, the number one cancer treatment center in the world. I have seen first hand what cancer can do to people when diagnosed late even with the advances made in technology. As a young girl, I watched my grand father suffer and eventually die of what I have come to realize was some sort of gastrointestinal cancer. He was never diagnosed. He lived with the pain, unable to eat, lost a lot of weight. We found out he had an inoperable mass when he was on the operating table. He was closed back up without the mass taken out. He later died. How many others have gone through this and are still going through it. I therefore swore to make a difference for others. I continue to work at MD Anderson to provide the best care possible with the tools we have and at the same time try to use the expertise of my colleagues to help people of African heritage who terribly need help.

The advisory council is made up of a chair and 4 members. As we expand into each African country, we establish an Advisory council for each zone or region of the country. This council is responsible for extending and running our cancer awareness and prevention operations in the country. The council made up of indigens of that country advises the executive arm of the organization on how to tailor our programs to suit the region and also develop the necessary tools to enhance better understanding of our programs.
Prevention Ambassadors
Prevention ambassadors are individuals interested in promoting cancer awareness, early detection, and survivorship. Ambassadors could be cancer survivors, people who have had first hand experience dealing with cancer victims or have ministered to cancer patients. These people will tell their individual stories and help promote grass root awareness in the various communities. They will run daily programs in various communities and work with our navigators to help those diagnosed with cancer. Prevention ambassadors are at the core of our programs.
Navigators
Navigators are people who are versed in the knowledge of available cancer resources within a country. They set up and manage our referral systems. They also work with newly diagnosed cancer patients to ensure that they get adequate care.
